Prof. Pande Putu Januraga Serves as Speaker at the 15th Key Populations Community of Practice

Denpasar – Prof. dr. Pande Putu Januraga, M.Kes., DrPH, Chair of the Center for Public Health Innovation (CPHI), Udayana University, participated as a speaker at the 15th Key Populations Community of Practice (KP CoP), themed “Unpacking the Global AIDS Strategy 2026–2031 for HIV Prevention Programming with Key Populations.” The virtual meeting was held on 23 September 2026 and hosted by the Global HIV Prevention Coalition Plus (GPC+), UNAIDS, and the South to South Learning Network (SSLN). 

The Key Populations Community of Practice brings together policymakers, programme implementers, donors, and key population networks from different countries to exchange experiences, lessons learned, and practices for strengthening key population programmes. The forum also provides a platform for peer-to-peer and country-to-country exchange on programme development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation, and community engagement.

The 15th meeting specifically focused on the Global AIDS Strategy 2026–2031 and its relevance to HIV prevention programming for key populations. The Strategy is structured around three main priorities: sustaining country-led and resilient HIV responses; delivering people-focused services grounded in equity, dignity, and access; and strengthening community leadership. It also emphasizes sustainable and diversified financing, stronger health and community systems, integrated HIV services, combination prevention, equitable access to innovation, and action to address stigma, discrimination, gender inequality, and punitive laws. 

As part of the Country and Constituency Presentations and Discussions, country and constituency representatives shared practical experiences related to the implementation of the Global AIDS Strategy 2026–2031 priorities. The discussion explored implementation challenges as well as practical approaches that could potentially be adapted or replicated in other country contexts. 

Prof. Pande’s participation in the forum brought an Indonesian perspective to the global discussion on the future of HIV prevention for key populations. The meeting also provided an opportunity to exchange lessons on how global strategies can be translated into planning, programming, and advocacy that are relevant to different national contexts.

Through participation in this international forum, CPHI Udayana University continues to strengthen its contribution to academic and knowledge exchange in advancing evidence-based HIV responses that address the needs of key populations, while supporting collaboration among governments, communities, academia, and partners in efforts to end AIDS as a public health threat.
