Primary Care Science and Practice (PCSP) and the Academic Outreach System Towards International Standards

Denpasar – On 1 September 2026, the Center for Public Health Innovation (CPHI), Udayana University, conducted the Mentoring Program for Strengthening the PCSP Journal and PUI-PT CPHI Academic Outreach System Towards International Standards in 2026. This activity was part of CPHI’s efforts to strengthen scientific journal governance while developing a more structured and integrated system to support academic outreach.

The mentoring activity focused on strengthening Primary Care Science and Practice (PCSP) and developing ACROSS (Academic Outreach Strategic System). PCSP serves as the initial use case or pilot implementation for ACROSS, which is designed as a web-based system to support the management of academic network databases, correspondence, communication history, evidence logs, and reporting for various academic outreach activities of PUI-PT CPHI Udayana University.

During the activity, Lukni Maulana, S.Kom. served as the resource person, providing guidance to the CPHI team in strengthening the PCSP journal and the academic outreach system. The activity was part of a capacity-building and system development process aimed at strengthening CPHI’s academic governance towards international standards.

The strengthening of PCSP is intended to support the management of the journal’s academic network, including databases of editors, reviewers, authors, and prospective contributors. Through ACROSS, these networks are designed to be managed more systematically through contact database management, data segmentation and search functions, correspondence templates, communication history tracking, and activity documentation through evidence logs.

Beyond supporting PCSP, ACROSS is being developed for broader use across various CPHI academic outreach activities. The system is designed to support network management for activities such as symposiums, webinars, grant management, visits from international institutions, researcher outbound programs, and the exploration of potential collaborations with various academic and institutional partners.

The system development also includes several supporting functions, such as contact and academic network database management, data search and segmentation, dynamic correspondence templates, communication history, reporting dashboards, data import and export mechanisms, user and access-rights management, and initial integration with academic support services. The system is not designed to replace the Open Journal Systems (OJS), but rather to serve as a supporting tool for network management, communication, outreach documentation, and evidence logging for PUI-PT CPHI activities.

Through the strengthening of PCSP and the development of ACROSS, CPHI Udayana University aims to establish a more structured approach to academic network governance and academic outreach. The system is also expected to strengthen activity documentation to support performance reporting, auditing, and data-driven decision-making.

This activity represents one of CPHI Udayana University’s steps towards strengthening its academic ecosystem and expanding its collaborative networks. With increasingly integrated journal management and academic outreach systems, CPHI is expected to broaden the reach of its academic networks, support more effective collaboration management, and strengthen the institution’s contribution to the development and dissemination of public health knowledge in line with international standards.
