Promoting Youth Engagement in Climate Research: Socialization of the Research Plan “Relational Wellbeing (RWB) to Bolster Climate Resilience in Indonesian Youth” at PSSKM FK UNUD

Denpasar, May 2, 2026 — The Center of Excellence (PUI-PT) CPHI at Universitas Udayana, in collaboration with Kolaborasi Bumi, conducted a socialization session on the research plan for undergraduate students of the Public Health Study Program, Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Udayana (FK UNUD), in partnership with the Public Health Student Association (HMKM) FK UNUD.

This activity aimed to introduce a research initiative focusing on the relationship between climate change and youth wellbeing, while also opening opportunities for students to actively participate in a participatory research process that will be carried out over the coming years. During the session, the research team presented the background, objectives, and methodology of the study, which adopts a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach that positions young people as active contributors in the research process.

In addition to the presentation, the session also provided a space for interactive discussion between students and the research team. Students showed high enthusiasm through various questions and responses related to climate change, health, and the role of young people in addressing these challenges. Through this activity, it is expected that students will not only gain a deeper understanding of the impacts of climate change on wellbeing, but also be encouraged to actively engage in research that is solution-oriented and grounded in real community action.

CPHI and Kolaborasi Bumi express their appreciation to all parties who supported the implementation of this activity, especially HMKM FK UNUD and the participating students. Moving forward, it is hoped that this collaboration will continue to grow in encouraging youth engagement in strengthening climate resilience efforts.
