Udayana University's CPHI Research Team Develops the RaCon Platform to Strengthen Community-Based Rabies Control in Bali

Denpasar – The research team from the Center of Excellence in Higher Education for Science and Technology (PUI-PT), Center for Public Health Innovation (CPHI), Universitas Udayana, is developing Rabies Control (RaCon), a community-based digital platform designed to strengthen rabies prevention and control efforts across Bali Province.

As an initial step in the platform's development, the research team held a discussion with researchers from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Universitas Udayana. The meeting was also attended by Prof. Dr. drh. I Made Damriyasa, M.S., Coordinator of the Expert Advisory Group for Development of the Bali Provincial Government, who provided strategic recommendations on strengthening cross-sector collaboration for rabies control in Bali.

The RaCon platform is envisioned as an innovative digital solution that supports rabies case reporting, surveillance, public education, and coordination among key stakeholders, contributing to a more effective, responsive, and sustainable rabies control system.

As a follow-up to the meeting, the PUI-PT CPHI Universitas Udayana Research Team will continue coordination with the Bali Provincial Department of Communication, Informatics, and Statistics (KOMINFO) and the Bali Provincial Government to prepare for the implementation of the RaCon platform in priority rabies-endemic areas.

This collaboration is expected to accelerate the digital transformation of rabies control while supporting the Bali Provincial Government's commitment to achieving a rabies-free Bali through a data-driven approach, technological innovation, and active community participation.
